Knurled Rolls

Project Summary

Chip screen rolls are used by pulp mills to clean and size wood chips prior to further processing into pulp. The design and manufacturing of the rolls is critical to the efficiency and operation of the mill. Due to the abrasive nature of the process these rolls must be inspected for wear and refurbished or replaced regularly. Major pulp operations throughout Western Canada rely on Northern Steel’s experience to do the dimensional inspections, refurbishment, and manufacturing of new chip rolls. We can produce to OEM specification or work with mill engineers to manufacture to custom requirements. Northern Steel has the heavy duty machining equipment necessary for knurling alloy rolls of this size.
